Leucoderma lenticulare disseminatum, idiopathic guttate hypomelanosis

UV-induced hypopigmentation of the skin.

Especially in patients with fair skin types and a lot of UV exposure.

Chronic UV exposure.

Sharply circumscribed, localised mainly on the extensor sides of the extremities, partly confluent, disseminated, whitish macules.

Clinical picture

If diagnostic uncertainty exists, a biopsy may be performed.

UV exposure?

Ortho- to hyperkeratosis. Reduced number of melanin granules in the str. basale.
