Administration

p.o.

Dosage

0.3 - 0.5 mg/kg bw/d for 4 weeks, then 0.5 - 0.8 mg/kg bw/d. For chemoprevention of epithelial skin tumors: 3 Where every 2nd day 10 mg in the morning, then 3 Where daily 10 mg, then 3 Where alternating 10 and 25 mg, then daily 25 mg

4 - 8 weeks

Be careful

Tetracycline -> pseudotumor cerebri, diabetes mellitus, hyperlipidemia, pancreatitis anamnesis, contact lenses. Relative contraindication for methotrexate. Depression- ones

Contraindications

Pregnancy/breastfeeding, kidney and liver function disorders, alcohol abuse, uncontrolled hyperlipidemia. Contraception for two years after discontinuation of Acitretin.

Anamnesis points, selected side effects and measures

A-hypervitaminosis, cheilitis, conjunctivitis -> re-fatting, artificial tears, no contact lenses. Ef uvium -> Reversible. Hyperlipidaemia -> diet, lipidsenic ker. muscle, joint and bone pain
