- The 3 gram-negative germs belong to the physiological flora, but are facultatively pathological in immunosuppression.
- Acinetobacter species are commonly found inguinally, axillary, perineally and interdigitally without pathological value, but can also lead to sepsis through secondary wound infection.
- Moraxella may be aetiologically significant in the development of ocular infections, reactive arthritides and septic vasculitides.
- Branhamella catarrhalis is a trigger of purulent bronchitis.
