Spongiotic dermatitis of the anus.

  • Atopic genesis
  • Toxic-cumulative genesis
  • Contact-allergic genesis (moist toilet bowls)

Erythematous, sometimes confluent, often very pruritic papules in the area of the anus.

  • Anamnesis (atopy, use of wet wipes, hygiene)
  • Clinic
  • Epicutaneous testing, if necessary,
  • Atopy testing, if necessary
  • If necessary, biopsy in case of resistance to therapy and suspicion of extramammary Paget's disease
  • Candida smear, if necessary

Anal/Perianal.

Secondary colonisation with Candida albicans.

  • Eliminating the cause, if possible.
  • Short-term topical class III steroids.
  • In the course, application of e.g. Protopic® – ointment.
  • Tannosynt sitz bath
  • Liquor carbonis detergens (Helps some patients a lot, but local irritation may occur. The smell is distressing for many patients
