Avelumab

Bavencio®

Avelumab is an IgG1 antibody that blocks the interaction between PD-1 and PD-L1.

Metastatic Merkel cell carcinoma.

Differential blood count, blood chemistry panel (Na, K, chloride, calcium, phosphate, urea, creatinine, uric acid, bilirubin, AST, ALT, gamma-GT, alkaline phosphatase, LDH, pancreatic amylase, total protein, CRP, CK), glucose, cortisol if indicated, TSH, fT4, hs troponin T, troponin I, NT-proBNP.

As indicated: pregnancy test, ECG, echocardiography (if cardiovascular risk is present).

Before each dose: differential blood count, blood chemistry panel (Na, K, chloride, calcium, phosphate, urea, creatinine, uric acid, bilirubin, AST, ALT, gamma-GT, alkaline phosphatase, LDH, pancreatic amylase, total protein, CRP, CK), glucose, TSH, fT4, hs troponin T, troponin I, cortisol if indicated.

60-minute intravenous infusion: 10 mg/kg body weight every 2 weeks. Premedication with paracetamol and an antihistamine (before the first 4 infusions; thereafter, depending on clinical presentation).

Until disease progression or the occurrence of unacceptable toxicity.
